Sultan's evil uncle has him sent to a reformatory as a child when, his father's death leaving Sultan and his mother penniless, Sultan asks him to acknowledge him as his nephew. Sheikh Hassan, his only visitor at the reformatory after his mother's death, tries to get him a job as a dairyman — the , trade he learned inside — when he gets; out, but his single prior conviction makes I him unemployable. His uncle refuses to help him, stands in his way, and finally falsely accuses him of murder.
