Cinema Treasures – Company Profile
Cinema Treasures Company was founded in 2016 in Egypt by film critic and historian Sameh Fathi,
following his extensive work as an author of several books on Egyptian cinema,
many of which were translated into English by the American University in Cairo.
Driven by a deep passion for film heritage, Fathi recognized that many
Egyptian cinematic classics had been altered, censored, or degraded over time.
He set out with a clear mission: to restore these films to their original
versions — the versions intended by their directors and filmmakers.
Cinema Treasures focuses on acquiring the rights to a wide range of
classic Egyptian films, spanning from early landmarks such as El Azima,
starring Hussein Sedki, to important works from the 1980s and 1990s by leading
directors including Mohamed Khan, Ali Badrakhan, Atef El-Tayeb and Salah
Abou-Seif.
The company collaborates with major partners across the Arab world,
including Rotana and ART, to access original film elements. Restoration work is
carried out using original negatives in facilities such as Egyptian Media
Production City (EMPC), as well as specialized laboratories in India. Through
high-quality digital transfers, these films are carefully restored and
preserved.
Cinema Treasures presents its restored catalogue in premium physical
formats, including DVD and Blu-ray editions, produced to the highest standards,
comparable to international collector releases for film collectors and academic
professionals with English Subtitles made at Anis Ebeid Labs in Egypt and
French Subtitles made by Sherif M. Awad, Egyptian film critic based in Ecuador.

تأسست شركة
كنوز السينما عام 2016 في مصر على يد الناقد والمؤرخ
السينمائي سامح فتحي، وذلك بعد مسيرته في تأليف عدة كتب عن السينما
المصرية، والتي قامت الجامعة الأمريكية بالقاهرة بترجمتها إلى اللغة الإنجليزية.
فانطلاقًا من شغفه
بالحفاظ على التراث السينمائي، لاحظ فتحي أن العديد من كلاسيكيات السينما المصرية
قد تعرضت للتشويه أو الحذف أو التدهور مع مرور الزمن. ومن هنا جاءت رؤيته لإعادة
هذه الأفلام إلى نسخها الأصلية كما أرادها مخرجوها وصُنّاعها.
تركّز شركة كنوز السينما على الحصول على حقوق عرض وترميم مجموعة واسعة من الأفلام الكلاسيكية
المصرية، بدءًا من الأعمال المبكرة مثل العزيمة بطولة حسين صدقي، وصولًا
إلى أفلام مهمة من ثمانينيات وتسعينيات القرن الماضي لمخرجين بارزين مثل محمد خان
وعلي بدرخان وعاطف الطيب وصلاح أبو سيف.
تتعاون الشركة مع
كبرى المؤسسات في العالم العربي مثل روتانا وإي. آر. تي، بهدف الوصول إلى المواد
الأصلية للأفلام. وتتم عمليات الترميم باستخدام النيجاتيف الأصلي في مواقع متخصصة
مثل مدينة الإنتاج الإعلامي في مصر، بالإضافة إلى معامل تقنية في الهند، لإنتاج
نسخ رقمية عالية الجودة ومترجمة للإنجليزية في معامل أنيس عبيد وللفرنسية بواسطة
الناقد شريف عوض المقيم في الإكوادور.
