As a child Hassan quits school when his father dies in prison after being accused of embezzling funds from the company where he worked. Years pass, and Hassan (Farid Shawqy) grows up only to join a gang of safe crackers. One day, he meets a young woman called Samia (Samira Ahmed) and decides to reform his ways so he can marry her. However, his criminal past soon catches up with them. The Vengeful One represents a continuity of its star Farid Shawqi in presenting human stories that reflect the reality of young people who fall victim to familial and societal circumstances, leading them to choose the path of crime. One should note that Mahmoud El Meleigy and Farid Shawqi formed a cinematic duo from the 1950s to the early 1970s, portraying various stories and characters. The film is also the directorial debut of Raymond Nassour, who had worked as an assistant director since the 1940s with prominent directors like Henry Barakat, Atef Salem, and Ibrahim Amara.
